These images of the space shuttle Challenger were taken by an israeli spy satelite and have only now been made public. The sheer devastation is abundantly clear. A salute to the brave men and women who gave their lives because of political interference at Nasa.

Saw this before, looks like it's from a movie, pretty wild.

No this is the real deal....too much detail...even George Lucas isn't that good!!

Ok, I just looked at the real Nasa footage and this is not real. The ship was still strapped to the huge booster rockets when it exploded. So......with apologies to Mr Lucas, I was wrong. Great recreation though!!

No the shuttle would not have had the huge booster rockets still strapped to it. They are jetisoned before it makes its initial run for orbit after lift off.

No.... you are thinking of Columbia. The challenger blew up with the tanks still on. Go have a look on you tube.

Absolutely right, but I was sure you were referring to Columbia, since you didn't specify the shuttle, and the bogus suttle was in space, more so than Challenger, so I assumed you were talking about Columbia. You know that sort of thing, being specific when you write, is what I teach.

I wonder if you teach reading comprehension as well? My post clearly says space shuttle Challenger!!! I also wonder what people think when they see us sniping at one another. Just for the record Mr Greenfield and Mr Fkia are very good pals!!!

I was commenting on the comments, not the blog post, and for the record, aside from the fact we're great pals, the actual blog post photos, the scam, was made out to be, not the Challenger, but the Columbia as it re-entered the atmoshere and disintegrated over Texas. The Challenger never got close to orbit before it was snuffed.

I admitted to my mistake early on. I think it's time you did as well!!

No where near the record but I'll take it. I just looked at the original e-mail as sent to me from Carl Leis and it clearly says it was the Columbia. I should have known the difference because, as you stated, Columbia broke up over Texas but it was spread over a few hundred miles and did not " just blow up ".
