What the hell...here's yet another sunrise on Trout Lake....taken at 6:25 am this morning and baby was it cold...minus 26.
I'm posting this from North Bay. While out for a walk this morning Rob and I came upon what appears to be a fox den. There were a lot of animal markings so we assumed that it was currently occupied.

Hey Rob, fire up the burn barrel....I'm coming to the Bay. Brrrrrrr

Simon Little about 100 milliseconds after unloading a great shot!
Some general mayhem at the crease!
Ok, I'm back. I was in Muskoka this past weekend and decided to take in a hockey game, in which, my friend's son was playing. I took about a hundred shots only to find that photographing a hockey game is much tougher than I thought. You have to shoot through safety glass...long lens, no tri-pod...and these little buggers are really fast...15/16 year olds. I don't know if I'm worthy of shooting the mighty Strawberrys!

I'm adding to my collection of things I can pull with my truck. Here is a perfectly utile honey wagon and boy, does it ever work well. This thing will fling crap with greater gusto than.....insert any Killer Strawberry's name here....waxing somnambulant...post game!

If everybody on earth were as naturally happy as our own Robbie G the world would be a better place....plus, beer sales would go through the roof!!

The fruit of fkia's loin, Cassandra leigh. She came over to have dinner with Dad...giant Nova Scotian sea scallops in a yummy pigknuckle sauce. Breath mints all around!!

Damn e-bay!!

Spike got a teddy bear for his birthday and he really likes it. I thought this was so cute...sleeping in the sunbeam with his bear. If the ice marshall Tadpole is reading...Spike Jr. weighs in at a bruising 24 pounds, is getting kind of cocky and keeps saying " where is that northern sissy who is named after me ". This is the down side of high quality food and tons of exercise.

Spike's birthday bash with the family. Camera on tri-pod...no flash...no decorum.

Tuesday, February 12, 2008

Speaking of the rodent hunter, today is his one year birthday and I'm having a party for him tonight. It may seem a tad indulgent of the little bugger, but it's a good excuse for a bunch of his favorite humans to get together and have some fun!!
Stuff is buried all over my back yard. There is a warren under this building and Spike likes to pick off the baby rabbits as they poke their stupid little heads out!!

This is my industrial strength, dua-deca-hedronized, post new-age Christmas tree/front lawn ornament/light show....lying forlornly on it's back...fighting the good fight...and losing...badly.
It seems obvious to me, because of the lack of maintenance, Spike has decided that this will be his summer home...period!! We have, for southern Onterrible, an insane amount of snow!

This year I'm going to ramp up the poppy production and make my own opium.

I'm digging into my vast archives of photos to bring you stuff that you probably don't care about. I went to the island of Bali, Indonesia back in 2000 and I got to sit in with a really good band. They could not speak much " ingrish " so we just played and had a ball!!!

My sister Kathy and the uber young Fkia Christmas 1956. I had no inkling of the twisted life I was to lead. The idea of crimes against nature, as a career option, would come at a later date.
While we are going back in time.....the very young Fkia can be seen mouing with vigor. No doubt I was being punished because of some trumped up charges for various crimes against nature!! As if!
This picture is from 27 years ago and I have obviously eaten very well since that time!! The black dog in the foreground is the original Spike. A black lab with all the usual fabulous traits.

I hand picked this beautiful Fender Stratocaster for Terry Reynolds' son TJ. Not only does it look good, it sounds great!! The last time I bought a new strat was 22 years ago.....it's still a great guitar, however....maybe I need a new musical love affair. I'll keep me posted.

Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear. Two of my favorite booze hounds....all decks on hand!!!

Tuesday, February 5, 2008

The shoreline on lake Huron just north of Bayfield. If you listen real hard you can hear the sound of pressure cracks and polar bear farts!!

Monday, February 4, 2008

The 3 kids next door built this amazing snow fort on their front yard. The thing is friggin huge. It took them the whole weekend to finish. Such industry!!!

Sunday, February 3, 2008

Mr Greenfield and Mr Fkia built this raised flower bed 8 years ago this spring. It's a beautiful sight when the nicotiana is in bloom!! Everybody who is sick of winter.....raise your hands!
